India were beaten 3-0 by the United Arab Emirates in their 2014 FIFA World Cup - Asian Round 2 qualifier first-leg at the Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium in Al Ain City tonight.India didn't play well at the start and were under pressure, but the match refereeing has to be questioned. In only four minutes left back Debabrata Roy and goalkeeper Subrata Pal were send off, while the UAE got two penalties which they scored.
Especially the red card for Subrata Pal seems to be a non-starter then Subrata doesn't seem to have any contact with the UAE striker. See the reactions afterwards, follow the commentary even if you do not understand Arab and make up your own mind.

Hi Arunava,
ReplyDeleteThe referee killed the match. Red Card for Subrata and a penalty after that. It was scandalous. At most it should have been a yellow card and no penalty. Even D. Roy deserved a yellow card (following a penalty). It seems to me that referee was bribed by UAE soccer federation. But AIFF is too weak a body to raise this refereeing issue in FIFA and get something out of it. It seems to me that India even in Asian level will always remain the whipping boys, in terms of getting normal justice, courtesy its poor political administrators who dont have any interest in the sport. The football administrators should learn something from the way Indian cricket board influences the ICC (in spite fo small participation), considering the mass appeal and support Indian football has. None of the gulf countries have even 1% of it - support as Indians have.
Thanks,
Shubhodip
The reason why Indian Political Administrators cannot do a thing is because the 'Criminal' way in which the 'Useless, good for nothing Cricket' played by a bunch of 'Weak, Casteist, Racist, Rapist' and conducted by Money hungry' scoundrels manages to completely 'eclipse' the thought of any other game from 'Public', 'Youngsters', 'Media' and the 'Indian Society' at large. Know 'Cricket' no Sports, NO CRICKET then we might know what real sports like foot ball are... to even care... such things as this...
